Stonefields Estate

Stonefields Estate feels like a wedding held in a storybook version of the Ottawa Valley countryside, with stone walls two centuries old, a barn roof soaring overhead and 120 acres that belong to one couple for the day.

The estate sits on the 9th Line in Beckwith, and its buildings have been carefully restored from structures dating back 200 years. The day begins at the stone Farmhouse, with a Great Room, kitchen, three guest rooms and a suite for getting ready. The Badchild Pub, a 200 year old log building with leather seating, a poker table and a mahogany bar, gives the other half of the wedding party somewhere to settle in.

Vows can be said outdoors at the Farmhouse beneath a canopy of trees, or inside the Ceremony House, decorated in a French countryside style. Cocktails follow with an outdoor bar, and the grounds are open for photographs.

The reception fills The Loft, a turn of the century barn with 35 foot cathedral ceilings and chandeliers. Everything is all inclusive: the owners are involved from the first conversation, a full coordination team runs the day, and the estate's own chefs and serving staff handle dinner. The site even sketches the timeline, from getting ready at one in the afternoon to the reception wrapping at one in the morning.

Then it is not quite over. Up to eight guests stay overnight at the Farmhouse, so the morning after happens in the same stone house where the day began. For couples who want a wedding that feels like an estate handed down through generations, Stonefields offers exactly that.
