Stone Eagle Winery feels like Niagara wine country dressed for an evening out.
Set among the vineyards of Niagara-on-the-Lake, this striking estate brings together contemporary architecture, beautiful wine, thoughtful food and acres of vines in a setting designed to make a celebration feel every bit as special as the reason behind it.
For larger weddings, the Stone Eagle Ballroom makes a dramatic first impression. Soaring 22-foot ceilings rise above marble and hardwood floors, while crystal-accented chandeliers glow overhead and expansive views keep the vineyard connected to the room. With space for up to 220 guests, there is room for dinner, speeches and the moment later in the evening when almost nobody is sitting down anymore.
Then the doors open outside.
The covered Event Terrace can welcome up to 200 guests beneath another soaring 22-foot ceiling, surrounded by views across 30 acres of Cabernet Franc vines. Large lanterns hang overhead, while a timber pergola brings a softer, more natural character to the edge of the space and can create a beautiful setting for the ceremony itself.
French doors connect the Terrace directly with the Ballroom and Pluma Room, allowing the wedding to move rather than simply stay in one place. Vows can lead to cocktails overlooking the vines, cocktails can become dinner inside and eventually everyone can wander between the celebration and the vineyard air as evening settles over Niagara.
Smaller weddings have some extraordinary possibilities of their own.
The Pluma Room welcomes up to 60 guests beneath 22-foot ceilings, with marble floors and an Art Deco-inspired bar creating an elegant setting for cocktails or an intimate gathering.
And then there is the Grand Cellar.
Up to 80 guests can dine surrounded by rows of barrels where Stone Eagle wines are quietly aging. Wooden harvest tables and the working cellar give the room a completely different feeling from the polished spaces upstairs, making it particularly beautiful for couples who want the winery itself to become part of the experience.
More intimate still, the Aquila Room offers private dining with a window looking directly into the cellar, while the Library Cellar rooms create tiny wine-filled spaces for the smallest gatherings.
Food and wine are woven naturally into celebrations here. Stone Eagle has its own culinary program and dedicated events team, allowing the meal, the wines poured alongside it and the spaces surrounding everyone to feel like parts of the same story.
But perhaps the moment Stone Eagle becomes most romantic is when Niagara begins to change outside.
The afternoon sun moves across the Cabernet Franc vines. Guests gather beneath the terrace lanterns. The ballroom chandeliers begin to glow through the open doors and somewhere beneath the building, barrels of wine continue aging quietly in the cellar.
Then the ceremony becomes cocktails.
