Stratus Winery

Stratus Vineyards feels like the kind of wedding where modern elegance meets the quiet romance of Niagara wine country.

Set on a 55-acre farm in Niagara-on-the-Lake, the winery is surrounded by rows of vines planted with 16 different grape varieties. There are no rustic barn doors or country chandeliers trying to create the feeling of a vineyard wedding here. Stratus is something altogether different.

Clean architecture. Glass. Light. Contemporary design.

And vines stretching beyond the windows.

The Tasting Room is wrapped in floor-to-ceiling glass, allowing the vineyard to remain part of the celebration even when everyone moves indoors. Outside, the Vineyard Terrace brings guests even closer to the landscape, creating one of those lovely places where cocktails can linger while the light begins to change across the vines.

Weddings here are intentionally more intimate.

During April, May, June and September, celebrations can welcome up to 128 seated guests. In January, February, March, October, November and December, weddings become smaller still, with up to 50 guests gathered together.

And perhaps that smaller scale is part of the magic.

There is something wonderfully romantic about looking around your wedding dinner and recognizing every face in the room.

The events team works alongside preferred caterers to create seasonal menus using local ingredients, with courses thoughtfully paired with Stratus wines. The result can feel less like a traditional wedding meal and more like gathering everyone you love around one extraordinary table in Niagara wine country.

And outside that table are 55 acres quietly changing with the seasons.

Spring brings the vineyard back to life.

Summer fills the rows with green.

Autumn changes the colours and brings harvest.

And winter strips everything back, leaving a smaller, quieter kind of beauty for those intimate celebrations of up to 50 people.
