Springbank Links Golf Club

Springbank Links gives couples one of those Calgary wedding views that seems to keep unfolding the longer you look at it.

Set in the rolling foothills just west of the city, the clubhouse looks across the Bow River Valley and Bearspaw Reservoir toward the Calgary skyline, bringing together open Alberta landscape and the convenience of being only a short drive from downtown.

For couples dreaming of an outdoor ceremony, there are two very different ways to say the vows.

The elevated south deck places up to 120 guests above the golf course behind glass-panel railings, allowing the view to stretch almost uninterrupted beyond the aisle.

Or take everyone out onto the manicured grass of the back nine, where celebrations of up to 225 can gather beneath the wide Alberta sky.

Then the wedding moves inside.

The Gallery is particularly striking, with a soaring 25-foot pine roofline and windows running from floor to ceiling. The landscape that surrounded the ceremony does not suddenly disappear when dinner begins. It stays beyond the glass while everyone gathers around the tables.

For larger celebrations, the Event Centre brings its own private bar and room for the dance floor that will eventually become far more important than the seating plan.

The current 2026 wedding offering can accommodate up to 152 guests for a seated banquet, or as many as 225 for a more free-flowing cocktail celebration.

There is something lovely about the way a wedding here can change with the light.

The ceremony begins with the valley stretched out in front of everyone.

Cocktails find their way onto the deck.

Dinner gathers people beneath the high pine ceiling.

Then the sun begins to disappear beyond the foothills and the enormous windows slowly turn from views into reflections of the celebration inside.

By then, nobody is looking at the golf course anymore.

The speeches are finished.

The music is louder.

And a clubhouse overlooking Calgary has become, for one night, completely yours.
