There are wedding venues where nature is carefully landscaped around the event space.

At Quiet Earth, nature was there first.

Set on more than 100 acres outside Dorchester, the property brings together rolling farmland, forest, historic buildings and a restored barn that has become home to weddings, concerts, festivals and creative gatherings.

Only a select number of weddings are held here each season, helping the property keep the feeling of somewhere discovered rather than somewhere processing one celebration after another.

At the centre of it all is the historic barn.

The restored space can welcome weddings of up to approximately 140 guests while keeping the authenticity that makes an old barn so romantic in the first place.

This is not a newly constructed building designed to imitate history.

It has history.

Timber, age and the surrounding farm landscape give the celebration character before anything has been decorated.

Couples can bring flowers, candles and personal details into the barn, but they do not need to hide the building underneath them.

Outside, more than 100 acres of countryside give the wedding room to breathe.

Fields stretch away from the buildings. Forest surrounds parts of the property. Historic structures and natural corners create different possibilities for photographs without asking the couple to leave Quiet Earth behind.

And there is something particularly fitting about music here.

Quiet Earth is also a creative space with a recording studio and a history of live performances, including its own music festival. The barn has hosted musicians for years and is known for its natural acoustics.
