Pondvalley Manor feels like the sort of place where a wedding can wander.

Set on a country property just outside St. Thomas, the venue combines a rustic barn with a pond, little bridges, patios, open fields and a fire pit, giving each part of the celebration somewhere different to happen.

At the centre is the barn, which can welcome celebrations of up to approximately 150 guests.

But the wedding does not have to begin there.

Couples can exchange their vows outside with the countryside around them, then allow guests to spread onto the patio while photographs happen across the property.

The pond and bridges create some of the prettiest possibilities.

Imagine stepping away together just as the sun begins dropping across the surrounding fields. The wedding is still happening somewhere behind you, but for a few minutes there is only the water, countryside and that strange realization that after all the planning, you are finally married.

Pondvalley Manor is especially flexible when it comes to the personality of the wedding. Couples can choose their own vendors and shape the celebration around everything from food trucks and casual dining to a more traditional catered reception.

The property can also be used across the wedding weekend, creating time for setup, rehearsal, ceremony, reception and cleanup without forcing everything into a frantic few hours.

That freedom is really the heart of Pondvalley.

The venue gives couples the barn and the countryside, but it does not insist on telling them what to do with them.

For some, the result may be rustic and relaxed.

For others, romantic and candlelit.
