Meridian is made for the kind of wedding where everyone is coming.

This family-owned Edmonton venue has been hosting celebrations since 2002, with a ballroom that can welcome up to 600 guests.

For a smaller wedding, the space can divide beautifully.

The South Room accommodates up to 150, while the North Room can welcome as many as 450, allowing the celebration to feel full and lively without couples having to book more room than they need.

Inside, high ceilings and warm chandeliers give the ballroom its sense of occasion.

There is a built-in bar, coat check and a private bride or green room for those final moments before joining everyone else.

Then food begins bringing the room together.

Meridian's catering is prepared in house, with both Western and Eastern menu options reflecting the many different celebrations that find their way through these doors.

That matters for weddings where food is more than dinner.

It is family.

Culture.

Tradition.

The dish someone has been looking forward to since the invitation arrived.

Then plates are cleared.

Speeches finish.

Six hundred seats suddenly seem far less important than one dance floor.

And all those different families, generations and groups of friends begin mixing together beneath the chandeliers.
