At The Malcolm Hotel, Canmore does most of the decorating.

The Malcolm welcomes celebrations reaching around 260 guests, but it also offers elopement experiences for twenty people or fewer.

So the Rockies can witness the enormous family wedding.

Or they can belong, for a little while, to only the people who matter most.

Inside, the Edinburgh Ballroom gives the larger celebration its home.

At 4,500 square feet, the room can seat up to 256 guests around banquet tables, with high ceilings and large windows helping the mountains remain connected to the experience.

Smaller rooms allow more intimate dinners and gatherings to feel properly sized rather than like somebody closed off one corner of a giant ballroom.

Then there is the reason everyone came to Canmore in the first place.

Outside.

Couples can step into the mountain landscape for photographs while guests enjoy the hotel, knowing dinner and celebration are waiting only a short walk away.

Eventually everyone comes back together.

Glasses rise.

The speeches begin.

The Rockies outside the windows slowly disappear into darkness.

And the room becomes warmer, louder and considerably less formal than it was a few hours earlier.

Tomorrow, guests will wake up and the mountains will still be there.

But they will look slightly different.
