Loft and Soirée is proof that a wedding does not need hundreds of guests to feel like the biggest day in the world.

Tucked into Markham, this intimate wedding space was made for the kind of celebration where every person in the room genuinely knows the couple, every face can be seen from the aisle and nobody disappears into a ballroom filled with strangers.

The room itself brings plenty of romance before the first flower arrives.

Twenty-foot ceilings rise above approximately 1,300 square feet of event space, with modern wall moulding and fourteen chandeliers creating a soft mixture of contemporary elegance and French-country influence.

For weddings, the venue is best suited to approximately 50 to 60 guests, making it particularly lovely for micro weddings, intimate ceremonies and smaller receptions.

And couples have room to make it their own.

Outside catering is welcome, couples can work with their own vendors and the entire venue is private during the booking. Tables and modern ghost chairs are available, while a bar preparation area, sound system and separate reception space take care of some of the practical pieces behind the scenes.

There is even a makeup station with illuminated mirrors for those last few moments before the ceremony begins.

Then fifty people can suddenly feel like exactly the right number.

The chairs fill with the people who matter most. There are no distant tables and no enormous room to cross just to speak to someone you love.

You walk down an aisle beneath the chandeliers.

Afterwards, the same intimate feeling follows everyone into the celebration.

Drinks are poured. Dinner arrives. Someone makes a speech from only a few feet away and eventually the room that held the vows becomes considerably louder as the evening takes over.
