There is something about Rivière-du-Loup that makes a wedding feel as though it has travelled somewhere, even when home is not very far away. The St. Lawrence stretches beyond the city, the landscape opens around it and at Hôtel Levesque, that unmistakable Bas-Saint-Laurent setting becomes part of the celebration.

The hotel welcomes weddings in a collection of reception rooms that can be adapted for celebrations of different sizes, with configurations accommodating as many as 450 guests. Couples can bring together dinner, speeches and dancing in one place, supported by a team that helps with the planning from beginning to end.

Food is prepared through the hotel's own culinary team, while couples retain the freedom to shape the entertainment, music and decoration around the wedding they have imagined.

That balance is part of the appeal.

The complicated pieces have somewhere to go, but the personality of the wedding still belongs to the people getting married.

And beyond the reception rooms is Rivière-du-Loup itself.

The St. Lawrence gives this part of Québec a landscape unlike anywhere else, and there is something especially romantic about knowing that while dinner is being served and glasses are being raised inside, the river is stretching toward the horizon just beyond the hotel.
