Guenther Farms

Guenther Farms feels like a wedding at a family homestead, with a 1945 barn, an organic farm and a wide open prairie yard that has belonged to the same family for more than sixty years.

A twenty minute drive north of Saskatoon, the farm is run by Ruth and Wayne Guenther, who married in 1995 and cleaned up the old barn in 2018 for a family reunion. That reunion planted the idea, and by summer 2019 they had added washrooms, a full kitchen and a covered reception building, and opened the farm as a wedding, event and arts centre.

The barn keeps 900 square feet on its main floor and another 900 in the loft, with room for around fifty people on each level. The reception building seats 120 to 130 guests under cover, and the big open yard hosts ceremonies and mingling. Full service washrooms, a large parking lot and camper parking round out the practical side.

The kitchen is a real one, with an industrial dishwasher, coolers, a stove and a freezer, and the farm offers catering for twenty to 130 people. A deluxe wedding package gives couples 48 hours on the property, from Friday noon to Sunday noon, with the outdoor wedding area, barn, reception building, kitchen, yard and seating all included, and tables and chairs set up and taken down for them.

Picture vows in the yard with the barn behind, dinner under cover, and a whole weekend on the farm with everyone you love close by. That is the Guenther Farms wedding.
