Some weddings are intimate by nature.

Others are meant to bring entire families, generations and communities together beneath one roof.

Da Vinci Banquet Halls in Woodbridge was made to let couples celebrate on that larger scale without losing the feeling that the day still belongs entirely to them.

With six configurable halls, the venue can welcome gatherings from approximately 50 to 1,000 guests. Spaces can be combined or arranged around the size of the celebration, giving couples room for everything from a closer family reception to the kind of wedding where the dance floor eventually seems to contain everyone you have ever known.

There is something incredibly moving about a large wedding once the doors finally open.

For months, the guest list has existed as names on a spreadsheet.

Then suddenly those names are people.

Grandparents are finding their seats. Childhood friends are hugging in the lobby. Cousins who have not seen one another in years are already taking photographs. Two families that once lived entirely separate lives are gathering in the same room because two people decided those lives should become one.

Da Vinci supports weddings from the ceremony through the reception, with on-site coordination, catering, bar service, lighting and sound helping the different parts of the celebration come together. Italian and South Asian cuisine are among the venue's specialties, and the team regularly hosts cultural wedding celebrations and the traditions surrounding them.

By the end of the evening, the room will look very different from the way it did before the first guest arrived.

Chairs have moved. Jackets are hanging over them. Someone's shoes are underneath a table. The dance floor is full and the seating plan no longer matters nearly as much as it once did.

And somewhere in the middle of all that beautiful disorder are two newly married people looking around at a room filled with people who came to celebrate them.

For some couples, that is exactly what a wedding should feel like.
