Some wedding venues become part of a city because they are new and exciting.

Cutten Fields became part of Guelph by staying.

For more than 85 years, weddings and celebrations have unfolded here, surrounded by the golf course and the familiar skyline of the city beyond it.

That history gives the venue a lovely sense of permanence.

But couples still have plenty of freedom to make the day their own.

Weddings can range from intimate gatherings of around 25 people to full celebrations of up to 200, with both indoor and outdoor ceremony possibilities.

For smaller vows, the East Patio sits beside the ninth hole, allowing the ceremony to feel open to the landscape while remaining closely connected to the clubhouse.

Then everyone can move inside.

Cutten Hall is the largest reception space, welcoming up to 200 guests beneath warm wood details with a fireplace, large bay windows and views across the golf course toward downtown Guelph.

And the dance floor is already waiting.

For something more intimate, the Dormie Room accommodates up to 60 and opens directly toward the East Patio, giving a smaller wedding somewhere that actually feels designed for its size rather than like one corner of a much larger ballroom.

That may be one of Cutten Fields' greatest strengths.

A wedding does not have to be enormous to belong here.

Twenty-five favourite people can feel just as intentional as two hundred.

Then afternoon becomes evening.

The sun lowers over Guelph.

Guests wander onto the patio between dinner and dancing.

Inside, the fireplace and warm wood give the room a completely different character from the green course everyone saw during the ceremony.

And eventually, the view outside becomes less important than what is happening on the hardwood dance floor.

Cutten Fields has seen generations of Guelph couples celebrate here.
