Cari Weddings & Events on Georgian Bay

CARI does not really invite couples to rent a wedding venue.

It gives them the resort.

At Sunport Beach Club on Georgian Bay, the entire property can become private for the wedding weekend, turning the celebration into a little temporary world occupied only by the couple and the people they chose to bring with them.

More than 40 guests can stay on site.

There is beachfront to wander, a Tiki Bar for gathering and a fire pit waiting for the point in the evening when formal wedding clothes and sitting sensibly at tables have both lost their appeal.

And nobody needs to keep getting into a car.

The ceremony, time together, celebration and accommodation all belong to the same destination, less than two hours from Toronto but with the feeling of having gone considerably farther.

That makes the spaces between the official wedding moments just as important as the scheduled ones.

Coffee by the water.

Friends crossing paths in the morning.

People lingering at the beach.

A drink the night before when everyone realizes the wedding weekend has actually begun.

CARI deliberately keeps that experience rare.

Only six wedding weekends are available each year, during June and September.

For those weekends, the resort does not have to be shared with strangers.

It becomes yours.

Then Georgian Bay does what Georgian Bay does.

The light changes over the water.

The beach quiets.

The fire starts.

And a wedding that could have lasted eight hours stretches into an entire weekend everyone lived together.

By the time guests finally leave, they have not simply attended the wedding.

They have been away together.
