Set in Niagara-on-the-Lake, this family-owned winery is surrounded by vineyards and open countryside, creating a wedding setting that feels connected to the place from the moment guests arrive. Rather than hiding the working winery behind polished event décor, Big Head allows the tanks, barrels, vines and winemaking spaces to become part of the celebration itself.

A wedding can begin outdoors among the vineyards.

There is something wonderfully simple about that picture. Guests gather with rows of vines stretching into the distance, the Niagara sky open overhead and the person you are about to marry waiting at the other end of the ceremony.

Once the vows are over, the vineyard becomes part of the photographs.

Couples can slip away together between the vines while guests begin celebrating nearby, creating those few quieter minutes in the day when everything finally sinks in. You are married, the party has started and for just a moment it is only the two of you surrounded by wine country.

Inside, Big Head offers several very different spaces depending on the size and feeling of the celebration.

The Retail Space is suited to smaller gatherings of up to approximately 44 guests, creating an intimate option for couples who want dinner and celebration with only their closest people.

The Tank Room can accommodate around 96 guests and brings the working winery directly into the reception. High ceilings, generous windows and large Italian-made concrete wine tanks give the room a contemporary personality that could never be mistaken for a traditional ballroom.

For larger celebrations, the Barrel Room can host approximately 136 guests. Wooden wine barrels bring warmth and texture into the space, creating a reception setting that feels unmistakably connected to the winery.

That variety gives couples the freedom to choose a celebration that actually fits their guest list.

Big Head Wines has decades of winemaking experience behind it and produces small-batch wines using techniques that include wild fermentation and appassimento.
