There is something about getting married beside the water in Newfoundland that already feels a little romantic before a single flower is placed or a chair is set. At Bayview Inn in Bay Roberts, Conception Bay becomes part of the backdrop, giving couples a waterfront setting where the wedding, celebration and overnight stay can all come together in one place.

The Inn welcomes weddings and receptions and offers venue rental, catering and room blocks for couples bringing their favourite people together. Its event space can accommodate approximately 80 to 100 guests, making it particularly lovely for couples who want a celebration where the room is filled with people they actually know and love.

Outside, the property sits directly along the waterfront, with patio decks and a licensed terrace overlooking the water. Inside, a glass atrium brings another connection to the coastal setting. And when the celebration is over, there are 25 guest rooms on the property, meaning some of the people who danced with you until the end of the night do not have very far to go.

That is part of the charm of a wedding here. Guests can arrive in Bay Roberts, settle into their rooms and become part of the celebration rather than simply attending it for a few hours. The ceremony and photographs become part of a larger Newfoundland getaway, with the shoreline, harbour and scenery of Conception Bay waiting beyond the Inn.

Then evening arrives over the water. Dinner turns into speeches, speeches turn into dancing and somewhere outside, the harbour grows darker while the people who matter most are still gathered together inside.

Bayview Inn may provide the rooms, the celebration space and that beautiful place beside the bay, but the best part is what couples bring with them: a weekend full of people they love and a new memory attached forever to the Newfoundland coast.
